An Interesting Lunch Indeed

August 09, 2007

At least two interesting things happened today during lunch at the Chinese restaurant in Wilmore that I thought were worth mentioning. I might as well just go chronologically on this because there’s really not a good reason not to.

My wife and I were talking about my personality, she pointed out that it mixes well with computers and that often the way I deal with things is very “computer like.” I guess since I’ve been using computers since the day I could physically manage one it would make sense for that to be the case. I mean, when you dedicate that amount of time to something it definitely will shape you in some way or another. We went on with the conversation:

There’s really only one way I wish your brain was more like a computer,” my wife said.

Oh, How’s that?” I replied, curious because I’ve never had anyone ever hint at wanting me to be more machine like, less has been common, more has definitely not been.

Well, when you tell a computer to do something it actually remembers to do it.”

Thinking it would be the show stopper I replied: “Have you ever used Windows?”

To which she asked, “Are you saying your brain is like Microsoft Windows?”

I had nothing to say in response.

Fortune Cookies on Wealth and Fortune

I also received a fortune cookie that I thought was notable.

A fortune cookie from lunch reading 'A way out of a financial mess is discovered as if by magic!'

Incase the photo isn’t clear, it reads:

A way out of a financial mess is discovered as if by magic! Lucky Numbers 34, 22, 17, 8, 19, 24”

Before I decided to take financial advice about amassing a fortune from a seemingly well named “fortune cookie” I decided to see what the back had in store for me.

the back of the fortune cookie reads 'Learn Chinese: Bean Sprout: Dou-ya'

It reads: “Learn Chinese: Bean Sprout: Dou-ya”

Computers, financial information and bean sprouts, I’ll just say again that it was definitely an interesting lunch indeed.
