March in the Woods
March 06, 2011
Last Friday, my wife prodded me to practice taking more dramatic photos of people. So, as a way to practice, we went out into the woods and setup two concepts that somehow merged into one. The first was a musician, playing their instrument in the woods. The second was someone in an almost nuclear apocalypse setting, living in the forest surrounded by old cars. After the shoot, I decided to process these a little bit differently than I normally do, and these are some of my favorites from the shoot.

This photo was taken inside an old bus. Just after this shot I was nearly attacked by one of the residents of the bus, a crazed squirrel. I was not harmed in the taking of this photo.

The last one is so much different than the others, but it’s quite possibly my favorite from the shoot. I actually used it as the photo of the day for Friday.
I had a lot of fun, and it was great practice. Hopefully I’ll be doing more shoots like this in the near future. If I do, I’ll be posting them here.
