Musical Inspiration - April 26 - May 3
May 04, 2010
This week, because of the time I didn’t spend listening to music, my list is a bit shorter and includes a few of the standards in my collection.
The first space here is likely not much of a surprise. I wasn’t joking when I said that I’m a die-hard BT fan. As a side note, if you’re ever putting together furniture from Ikea, “These Hopeful Machines” is a great soundtrack.
When I was rewiring my studio last week I put on the Buena Vista Social Club. It’s probably a good thing that I did, because without it I might have decided to throw my mixer out the window.
There are a few artists to whom Last.fm has introduced me — Kate Havnevik is one of them. I can’t speak highly enough for her album Melankton. No joke, I could listen to that album on loop for a week straight without getting tired of it.
Heavy, yes, they made it back into my rotation again this week. “The House That Dirt Built” is really a good album, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be saying that in six months.
