Tree Rings

This may be one of my favorite nature photos that I’ve taken to date. For some reason, when this tree was knocked over (by a storm or another natural occurrence) the break happened like stair-steps across the rings of the tree. It made this really interesting pattern, both organic and nearly symmetrical at the same time.
