Silhouetted Weeds
September 29, 2008

With my wife in Photography 2 this semester I’ve been spending more time around 35mm film and the darkroom. Of course that is great news for me because darkroom photography is one of my favorite things to do. So just the other day we were out in the field again taking pictures when I snapped this one.
I processed this photo from start to finish, including the film. To capture this image I used an old Pentax camera with a 50mm lens and Kodak TMax 400 ISO film.

Ben: Thanks! When my wife is out of the class, and we don’t have access to the darkroom anymore we will probably buy at least the chemicals to process film on our own. If there’s a way, I’ll probably pick up a negative enlarger and some of the other equipment also. We’re both just absolutely loving it, though the flaws make me want to pull my hair out sometimes.

Cool shot. I took a beginner’s photography class and the darkroom definitely is a lot of fun. Maybe sometime down the road I’ll get to use one again.
This photo is neat because we were just reading Matthew 13:24 and the parable of the weeds.
